Competitive polo player Dale Johnson and his horse Sunny were such a treat to photograph! I met him down on a beautiful ranch in Half Moon Bay, California. The Kitchn has a column, The Way We Eat, profiling interesting people and what they eat in a typical day. You can read the story here.

Author Meng Jin
Meng Jin’s debut novel Little Gods, published through Custom House, came out in January. I had the pleasure of taking her author portrait at my studio in Oakland last year.
Biossance Clean Beauty
I’ve been wanting to share more of my ongoing commercial work with Biossance, a clean beauty brand based in San Francisco Bay Area. Though I was fairly new to beauty photography when I began working with them on their 2018 holiday campaign, I’ve really enjoyed this niche. It’s been sweet to be able to photograph both portraits and still life for the same client. Here are some photos for their limited edition rose oil and rose mask. I love the hair and makeup on Selah by Marine Vaisset!
St. George Spirits
It’s always a pleasure working with the folks at St. George Spirits —it’s clear everyone there loves their job and is passionate about the craft. They’re an independent distillery in Alameda, California that makes some very special spirits. At the helm are distillers Lance Winters and Dave Smith. During this shoot, the warehouse had the best all-encompassing smell of pears, since they’d literally used tons of the fruit that week to make their brandy and liqueur.
Kris Nations
I love a colorful e-commerce product shoot! This was for Bay Area jewelry studio Kris Nations Jewelry. Made possible by a great team with wardrobe by Liz Baca, hair and beauty by Mili Simon, and modeled by Alondra Hurtado repped by Scout.
The Miranda for SF Magazine
Bar Manager Julie at The Miranda in downtown Oakland, and their "Pull Up to the Bumper" cocktail.
Portraits for Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA)
On editorial assignment for Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). A portrait series of their Bay Are grads/creatives in their places of work. Such a lovely talented bunch!
Feelmore in the Fillmore
I had the pleasure of working with Fillmore residents, merchants and families for this neighborhood portrait campaign. You can find the banners all around the Fillmore District, just a few blocks from where I used to live. It was wonderful to work with the creative minds behind anotherwise.co on this campaign.
Kris Nations
From a recent e-commerce shoot with one of my fav clients Kris Nations Jewelry. I usually work with them on seasonal lookbooks, but this time they wanted a clean and timeless look focusing on images for their web shop. We shot about a hundred of their classic best-selling earrings, necklaces and bracelets. It was a great team of ladies working with founders/sisters Kim and Kris, stylist Liz Baca, hair and makeup artist Victoria Boggiano and Sophia Jackson from Scout Models.
Neptune's
New restaurant, Neptune's on Alameda, serves Southern and Asian inspired food and is housed in a former Foster's Freeze. Chef Naomi Elze-Harris heads up their kitchen.
